Multi-Day Closure of Major Interstates Due to Storm, Warns WYDOT

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is requesting drivers to “please change travel plans” as a severe winter weather is expected to maker travel harder for everyone.

WYDOT issued an alert for drivers who are “coming towards Wyoming, waiting to go west from Cheyenne or Laramie on I-80, or waiting to go east on I-80 from Rock Springs” on Tuesday evening.

WYDOT also stated that I-90, I-25 and secondary roads will more than likely be closed into Thursday due to moderate to heavy snow, blowing winds, and cold temperatures. These conditions could potentially put people in danger.

The agency expects that I-80 and secondary roads will be closed until Friday as snowfall up to two feet is predicted, 45 to 65 MPH winds, blizzard conditions, and temperatures could also drop to dangerous levels as well.
