Motor carriers must obtain an Oregon Mileage Permit if their vehicle:
• Has a gross weight over 26,000 pounds or three or more axles.
• Does not have valid registration (expired or no plates).
• Does not list Oregon on the registration cab card.
Drivers are required to carry a valid registration cab card when operating in Oregon.

What Information Is Required to Obtain an Oregon Mileage Permit?

To apply for an Oregon Mileage Permit, you’ll need the following information:
• USDOT Number (If you don’t have one, FCCR can set it up for free)
• Date(s) of travel
• Driver’s full legal name(s)
• Route of travel or miles to be purchased
• Commodity type
• Vehicle details (year, make, VIN, unit number, odometer reading)
• Power unit base plate and jurisdiction
• Vehicle ownership (owned or leased)
• Registered and operating weight
• Copy of your registration cab card or trip permit
• Method of payment (Visa or MasterCard)
• Fax number or email to receive the permit

How Do I Manage or Cancel My Oregon Tax Enrollment?

Motor carriers are responsible for managing all tax enrollment under their account, including vehicles that are leased or rented. If you no longer operate in Oregon, it’s recommended that you cancel your tax enrollment to prevent additional or unnecessary fees.
